It only takes a few minutes to make these homemade baked pita chips! Who doesn’t love warm, fresh chips?! The pita bread is cut into pieces and baked rather than fried until they are crispy. After making these you will never need to buy a bag from the store again. Add any other seasoning of choice before baking for different flavor variations.
Pita is a yeast-leavened flat bread frequently used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking. If you are using pita pockets for this recipe separate them in half so the chips are thinner.
How to Make Baked Pita Chips
Step 1: Cut pita into triangles.
Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Slice pita bread into 6 triangles. Split each piece of the pita bread in half so that it is thinner.
Step 2: Arrange on baking sheet and spray.
Arrange the pita on a baking sheet in a single layer. Lightly spray with the canola oil cooking spray and season with salt.
Step 3: Bake the pita chips.
Bake, flipping them half way through cooking, until golden brown and crisp, about 8 minutes. Let cool and serve with your favorite dip. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
