This homemade garlic parmesan popcorn with nutritional yeast is the ultimate savory snack. Real parmesan, roasted garlic, and nutritional yeast in under 10 minutes.
Heat a large heavy bottom pot over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and heat through. Add the rosemary and swirl it in the pan quickly. Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
Shake the pan and continue shaking the pan every minute or so that by the end of the cooking process, all the kernels hit the heat evenly and pop, about 3 to 5 minutes total. Listen for the kernels to slow popping then remove from heat.
Add half the popcorn to a large bowl. Evenly pour half the melted butter and garlic powder over the top season with salt. Top with half the nutritional yeast then add the remaining popcorn. Drizzle with the remaining butter and add garlic, salt and nutritional yeast. Sprinkle with the cheese and serve immedaitely.
Notes
This recipe is totally customizable. Add chili flakes for heat, smoked paprika for depth, or extra parmesan (or swap for Pecorino Romano) for an even cheesier finish. Make it your own.
