Amaretto Sour Recipe

This goal of this classic 70’s cocktail is a smooth, well-balanced drink, not an overly sweet drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg white*
  • ounces amaretto
  • ¾ ounce Bourbon
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Lemon peel, for garnish
  • Maraschino cherries, for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the egg white, amaretto, Bourbon, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and bitters to a cocktail shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds without ice.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and continue to shake for an additional 15 seconds.
  • Strain into a low ball glass.
  • Thread the lemon twist and maraschino cherries onto a skewer as a garnish. Serve immediately.
